I wanted to share a little bit more about why I started Romans and why I love working from home so much.
Several years ago my Asthma had become progressively worse and it was a chance conversation with my Asthma nurse that it was brought to my attention about how burning paraffin wax products can exasperate conditions such as mine.
I went away and did my own research and discovered this to be true and found I needed to swap to soy wax products. I decided to make the change and within a very short period my Asthma had improved so much that I have never looked back.
I had been a representative for several home fragrance companies in the last 13 years and thought my experience would be a good base for building my own business. On so many occasions I struggled when I could see gaps in the market that they missed and failed to capitalise on.
My husband has his own business and is very innovative and always looking to test new things. We are a household where being your own boss was always a big subject and had this feeling there was always this certainty of being my own boss one day.
Having always been obsessed with home fragrance products especially candles I wanted to make my own products and bring the dream to life. I wanted to do what I loved the most and it not be just about earning an income. My passion is helping others build their own business's and achieve their goals no matter how big or small.

I had so much fun not only playing with fragrances but also the marketing and business part of running my own company.
We did everything ourselves, from the design of the company logo, the packaging to the marketing materials and of course, the amazing products we now have to offer. It was such a sharp learning curve and such a great experience.
Why Romans…
The inspiration for our name came whilst walking my dogs across Roman Fields, an archaeological park that has been described as one of Britain's premier Iron Age and Roman monuments. Being born and having lived in Colchester, Britain's oldest recorded town also made it seem even more fitting.
I loved the start-up phase of my business, it was such an exciting and crucial time. This wouldn't have been possible without all the amazing people that have encouraged and supported me so far on my journey

18 Months on…
A few months into our journey I was approached by so many people that I had worked with before who wanted to sell our products that we decided to launch into the MLM market. The following months were a whirlwind and today we now have a dedicated IT team, A national team leader, and 400+ representatives/team leaders selling our products all over the UK.
Our recent addition to the business is our new live purpose built website that is still being developed behind the scenes to bring us a purpose-built MLM back office platform to deliver the very best experience to our amazing reps and team leaders.
